New from the STEAM Studio

A Note From the STEAM Studio-
Please note that the STEAM teachers have always used Google Classroom as a learning tool in the STEAM studio.  All assignments that are posted while we are doing face to face learning will always be completed in class and should not be worked on at home.  I tend to post assignments ahead of time to work out any issues and students can ignore the email that a new assignment has been posted.  We use Google Classroom differently than the classroom teachers and it was causing a bit of confusion.  Please reach out if you have any questions!

I really appreciate it!  I will get all of your kids into the Google Classrooms for the specialists this week.

First days of Third Grade!

We’ve had a great start in third grade! We’ve accomplished so much already! In math, we’ve measured out 6 feet, reviewed addition and subtraction with regrouping, we are learning about multiplication and started practicing our X 5 facts. In reading, we have received our book bins and picked out books from our class libraries (we have a fiction library in our small learning lab and a nonfiction library in our classroom). Mrs. Greenlund will be testing reading levels starting this coming week. In grammar, we are learning how to identify nouns, verbs, adjectives in sentences. In writing, we have completed our first personal narrative and All About Me posters.  In computers, we have practiced logging in and accepted the invitation to our 3rd grade Google Classroom. On top of all that we have learned new routines and procedures. It’s been a busy, exciting, fun-filled first few days of third grade.

3rd Graders: Our Classroom Is Ready For You! Check Out The Pictures Below!

Franklin is hiding in the log. It’s her birthday on Monday!

We have so many books to read! In our small learning lab there are baskets filled with some of the fiction books we have in the classroom!

If you like to read non-fiction books….. we have books on animals, books on space, books on dinosaurs, we have biographies, we have books on presidents, we have books about the Titanic and many, many more!

We won’t use our lockers this week. Please bring your backpack right into the room, so I can help you sort all of your belongings!

On Monday morning I will be standing right by our door. We are in Room 205. We are located right across the hall from Mrs. Kuieck’s room!

This is the view when you look into the room from the hallway!

If you bring any boxes of Kleenex, Ziploc bags or disinfectant wipes…. we can put those in these boxes.

Under the calendar is our lunch chart and in the black pocket chart you will find your lunch cards. The first thing you need to do EVERY morning is let me know what you need for lunch by pulling your white card, blue card, or yellow card. On Monday and Tuesday we have a half day of school, but you can order a sack lunch if you would like to.

These are our mailboxes. You will put your TakeHome Folder in your mailbox slot every day. If you have any notes for Mrs. Greenlund you will put them in the black tray above the mailboxes. If you have lunch money please remember to have it in an envelope with your name on it and 3-Greenlund. Then put the envelope in the metal envelope next to the black tray.

Mrs. Greenlund’s 3rd Grade Parent Survey

Mrs. Greenlund and Max ( a 5 year old golden retreiver)

This is me and my dog Max. I will talk about Max A LOT and all the silly/crazy/naughty things he does that adds comfort to my life as well as extra work. 🙂

We are working hard to kick off this school year successfully and safely. Below is a link, asking you questions you might feel you’ve already answered several times already this year. I would like you to know we are working our hardest to cross all of our t’s and dotting all of our i’s… so please excuse the redundancy.

If you would please fill out all the questions to the survey AND then send me an email with a photo of your child with his/her first name and last name that would help me become more familiar with your child before Monday. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me.
